According to our perinatal specialist,
50% of twin births occur between 32-36 weeks,
and 50% occur between 36-38 weeks!

32 Weeks

Physical Symptoms: Exhaustion after short tasks, difficulty moving, sore back, nasal congestion, itchy stomach, bellybutton still on the move, Baby Girl hiccups

Emotions: Extreme high and low emotions

Cravings: Italian food, chocolate, Halloween candy, marshmallow

Food Aversions: Avocado (still grosses me out)

Pregnancy Milestones: First of weekly perinatal appointments, Baby Girl 4 lb 6 oz, Baby Boy 3 lb 14 oz, great other measurements, passed the first NST, stomach measuring at 40 weeks, still talking about induction date after Dec 2 check-in (if they aren’t here by then)

Purchases for Peanut: More fabric for quilts

Peanuts’ Sizes: Squash

 

33 Weeks

Emotions: Ready for labor and to meet my babies

Cravings: chocolate, sweets

Food Aversions: Still avocado, fish

Pregnancy Milestones: Wearing the maternity support belt often through the day, finished the nursery, both babies head down

Purchases for Peanut: Curtains completed (and installed), carseats, stroller

Peanuts’ Sizes: Durian fruit (What is a durian fruit, anyway?)

34 Weeks

Physical Symptoms: Daily exhaustion, difficulty moving, sore back (maternity support band really helps), sore legs, less nasal congestion (but still there), bellybutton just about flat (still on the move), popping jaw when chewing, trouble sleeping (Tylenol helps to dull the aches at night), pain in hips, strong and lots of kicks

Emotions: Tired, cranky, emotional, feeling “ready”

Cravings: Marshmallows

Food Aversions: Avocados, fish, strong smells

Pregnancy Milestones: I feel ready to be done being pregnant, perinatal specialist uses words like “gorgeous” and “you’re hitting it out of the ballpark,” great blood pressure, able to give birth any time with hopeful minimal NICU time,

Purchases for Peanut: Attending “Happiest Baby on the Block,” “Expecting Multiples,” and “Newborn Care and Safety” classes

Peanuts’ Sizes: Butternut squash (doctor estimates about 5 lb each)

 

35 Weeks

Physical Symptoms: Daily naps, difficulty moving, sore back (maternity support band really helps), sore legs, less nasal congestion (but still there), bellybutton just about flat (still on the move), popping jaw when chewing, trouble sleeping (Tylenol helps to dull the aches at night), pain in hips, strong and lots of kicks, nausea after bigger meals

Emotions: Tired, cranky, working to stay positive

Cravings: Donuts, wanting to eat smaller meals to help with nausea

Food Aversions: Too much food, avocado

Pregnancy Milestones: Can’t button up my pre-pregnancy winter coat (see picture above)

Purchases for Peanut: None
