When we got married, we got all new pots and pans (love our All-Clad stainless steel set!), and they came with standard oven mitts. Over the past 5 years, they have gotten really icky and gross, and it was time to get rid of them and get something new. We really liked our Bee Sili Ice Pop Mold Makers, and so we thought it would be worth it to try their oven gloves (a little more flexibility and options than just with oven mitts).
Overall, we really like them and how easy they are to use. They keep the heat on the outside and your hands safe inside. We really like the feel of silicone, and they are so easy to clean when food spills on them. They are a little awkward to use at first, but it’s really nice to be able to use all 5 fingers to pick up hot items. Our biggest complaint, however, is that the index finger slot is very stiff, making it hard to curl your finger and grip items. This may sound nit-picky, but when you are trying to carry a burning hot pot or pan, it’s important to get the best grip possible, and this simply doesn’t do it.
We also received a basting brush, which we haven’t been able to use yet, but I feel like we may give it to the twins to play with, as the texture would be perfect for them to experience.
