Woodland Themed Baby Shower

On March 22, I teamed up and threw a baby shower for one of my closest friends, Christy, along with her sister Jenny and good friend Jennifer. We hosted it at The Boathouse at Sunday Park, and I have to say that I can’t believe it took me almost 7 years of living in Richmond to make it there. Wow, was it beautiful!

Because Christy’s nursery  is going to be a woodland theme, we decided to have that be the theme of the shower as well. Through the amazing nature of Google Docs, Facebook group messages, and Pinterest shared (and secret) boards, we were able to co-plan this from three different locations in Virginia. I was in charge of the decorations, and I wanted the ones that I came up with to be able to be used again in some way.

The Invitations:

*As a part of the invitation, we asked the guests to bring a book instead of a card to help build their library.  I loved seeing the books that each guest decided to bring! It’s so indicative of that person and their relationship with the Mama To Be!

  1. Wow, what stunning work you did. I love the creativity and talent that went into organizing this shower, and the book-instead-of-a-card idea is golden. I’m sure the mom-to-be must have been thrilled.

Stopping by from the Blog Hobnob Link-up. Have a great day.

  2. Oh this looks so fun! I love the idea of having them bring a book to start the baby’s library! Brilliant idea 🙂 Pinned. Stop by and visit our Snickerdoodle Sunday sometime if you can!

    • Thanks! My sisters-in-law did this for my shower as well, and I was amazed at the variety of great books we received. I think it’s fascinating how there are really very few repeats. I’m looking forward to stopping by your Snickerdoodle Sunday!

  3. OMGeee…I won’t be having anymore kids, but I love love love the idea of a thumbprint guest sign in. So cute and something that can be kept forever and displayed. Thanks for sharing it on Merry Monday Linky Party.
