Pardon the Interruption

Whew! It has been quite a long time since our last post! It has been a very busy 5 months (5!?!?).

In April, we celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary, and the 7th year that we’ve been together. 7 year itch, I don’t think so! We decided to take a short weekend trip to Williamsburg, since we both LOVE our Virginia history. We stayed in one of the historic taverns that Thomas Jefferson used when he was a student at William and Mary. I love all things Thomas Jefferson, so this was very exciting for me!

We also were able to be a part of our friends Travis and Christy’s wedding. It was beautiful, and we love their families!

May was a pretty normal month.

In June, we said “Bon voyage!” to my family, as they began their travels around the world as a part of Semester at Sea. My mom has documented her journeys on her blog at http://ellyt.vox.com/.

June was also exciting as it ended the school year, and I was officially hired as a 4th grade teacher back at SGES. More on that in a different post. Go Cardinals!

In July, Tim got promoted to a Senior Consultant. After only 3 years at CapTech, that is a HUGE accomplishment. We are so excited, and obviously I’m so proud of him.

In July, we also welcomed Tim’s sister, Kathleen, home from her 6-month study-abroad program in La Plata, Argentina. We are so happy to have her back and share mate (similar to tea) with her in real life, instead of over Skype.

ALSO in July, I returned back to the stage, after a 7-year absence in Heritage Repertory Theatre’s production of Sound of Music. More on that later, too.

Finally in July, Tim and I took a second honeymoon to my family’s lake house in Guntersville, Alabama. We didn’t have an official Camp Tucker this year, but we made sure to do all of the official events. I will dedicate a whole post to that week.

August has been very busy with me getting ready to go back to school and Tim working on his Senior Consultant responsibilities. I am hoping we will be able to do many more updates, with no 5 month pauses.
